As an Asian immigrant, I’ve always wanted to connect with my neighbors in a casual, friendly way. After spending a few years here in Richmond, BC, Canada, I’ve been blessed to meet both Asian and non-Asian neighbors, and I can truly feel how strong the community spirit is in this city.
Thanks to the support of the Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) program, I now have a chance to pay it forward by organizing a one-of-a-kind community event: Cooking for Connections – Recipe of Life. It’s all about bringing people together through food, stories, and friendship.
✨ Our gathering includes:
- Recipe sharing
- Guided English conversation with prompts if needed
- Immigrant storytelling
- Shared meal and discussion
